Spider veins (Telangectasia) are tiny blood vessels that are visible beneath the skin on the face and legs. Their jagged pattern sometimes resemble a spider’s web. Spider veins are caused by cumulative sun exposure, genetics and skin conditions such as rosacea. Facial spider veins appear frequently at the sides or tip of the nose and respond very well to the judicious settings of the laser energy without evidence of treatment.
How Are Spider Veins Treated?
Spider veins smaller than 3-mm in diameter can demonstrate significant cosmetic improvement using the candela gentle YAG laser. Laser light energy passes through the skin and is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood. The blood in the spider veins is vaporized and the vessels collapse without damage to the surrounding skin tissue. The spider veins may appear darker immediately after treatment, but will gradually fade away over the next two to three weeks. Between two and four treatments spaced a month apart are typically needed for complete removal. New spider veins may develop over the years and laser treatments may again be performed to remove them. As the spider vein becomes larger and bluer in color they may be more effectively treated by sclerotherapy injections. A service also provided by Tuscan Bliss MedSpa.
What Is The Cost Of Laser Spider Vein Removal?
